School Supplies
Oaks Christian School is committed to fostering the development of an effective organizational system that supports the unique learning needs of its students. By cultivating a sense of organization, students arrive to class better prepared and experience reduced stress levels and enhanced learning efficiency. To assist in developing this essential skill, we recommend using one of two organizational systems based on best practices:
1) A single large binder with designated sections for all classes, OR
2) Two smaller binders, one designated for A-day and the other for B-day.
Please look at the following list of the required supplies for each binder. We encourage students with an existing effective organizational system to continue utilizing the best approach for them.
6th Grade Supply List:
Feel free to use this Amazon list to add items to your cart for your convenience. This list contains items from grades 6-8.
For School:
- 3” heavy duty binder OR (2) 2” heavy duty binders
- (1) set of pocket dividers with at least 7 tabs
- 4-6 sets of no-pocket dividers (5 tab)
- Folders with pockets (at least 2 to contain homework and to temporarily hold papers that need to be hole-punched)
- College-ruled notebook paper
- History (to be kept in classroom) - Spiral Notebook, college ruled (10.5” x 7.5”)
- English - (1) Composition book (7.5” x 9.75”, not spiral)
- Zippered Pencil Pouch (that goes into binder rings)
- Pencils with erasers
- Large eraser
- Black Pens
- Blue pens
- Red Pens
- Green Pens
- (1) pack of 12 colored pencils
- Highlighters (pink, green, yellow, blue, orange - can be purchased on Shelfit with textbooks)
- Spanish - (1) 4-Color ballpoint retractable pen
- Whiteout correction tape (no bottles)
- Backpack - rolling allowed (must fit in locker, interior 12” x 34”)
- Water bottle - with student’s name on it
- School laptop including charger (no iPads, no Chromebooks)
