Fardad Family Library and Collaboration Center

The school maintains a library that supports the total educational program. Students are introduced to the library and instructed on the ways to make its resources a valuable part of their education.

Library Computers

Students are expected to come to school with their charged BYOD devices and chargers each day. If there is an occasion where a student forgets their device at home, students are allowed to check out library computers before school, during break, and at lunch. If there is an unforeseen emergency in the classroom, students will only be allowed to leave class to check out a library computer during the first ten minutes of the class period. A teacher pass is required. Students are allowed a total of 20 checkouts of library loaner computers for the entire school year. Students are accountable for returning items borrowed from the school in the same condition they received them in. Please refer to the BYOD Technology Handbook for more information.

Library Printing

Students are able to print ONLY before and after school, during break, and at lunch. No students will be allowed to print assignments during class time. Students will pay for printing using their OneCard.

Library Hours

Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm The library may be closed periodically throughout the school day for meetings, classes, and advisory.

MS Collins Café II

The café is a technology free zone from the hours of 8:00am-2:45pm to promote student engagement with one another. If students need to use technology during this time for academic purposes, the library is available. Gaming is not permitted during lunch or break. It is a privilege to have a café on our campus. Students are expected to pick up after themselves and display appropriate behavior while enjoying this privilege. In addition, students are expected to pick up after themselves when eating on the benches outside. No food is allowed on athletic fields, courts, or in the pods.

Food Deliveries

Oaks Christian does not allow outside companies (Doordash, UberEats, Postmates, etc.) to deliver food to our students on campus. Parents must bring lunch into school.

OneCards

OneCards are used for purchasing breakfast, lunch, printing, and purchases for the campus store. One-Cards are the only way to make purchases. Students must carry their OneCards all the time. You can register and add funds to your OneCard through AXIS Resources. If you have any trouble with your OneCard, please contact Monique Lynn.

Food Policies

  • Eating is permitted in the following areas: MS CafĂ©, outside picnic tables, and Leko field bleachers.
  • Students are expected to pick up after themselves and others at lunch and on the campus. We have a beautiful campus and facilities, and maintaining them is the responsibility of all.
  • Students should have a water bottle with them in the classroom.
  • Gum is not allowed on campus.

Personal Storage

OCS provides each student with a personal locker and offers athletic lockers in the MS locker room.

Personal Lockers

Office personnel will assign students their lockers at the beginning of the school year. Students are expected to abide by the following rules:

  • The lockers should be kept neat and treated properly. In the interest of safety and to ensure compliance with school policies prohibiting the presence of drugs, alcohol, weapons, and contraband, OCS reserves the right to inspect lockers and their contents without prior notice or cause. See 🦺Conduct and Consequences for more details.
  • Inside locker decorations should not be permanent in nature and should not display any offensive quality or slogan or that does not support the values, rules, or philosophy of the school.
  • Students may access their lockers at any time the classroom building is open.
  • Students are encouraged to keep valuables at home.
  • Students are not to share or trade their locker or locker combination with anyone else.
  • Students may request a top locker with an existing medical condition. A doctor’s note must be turned in to the Assistant to the Principal. The student will then be reassigned a top locker.
  • Students will be held financially responsible for any damage to their locker.
  • Backpacks and cellphones should be kept in lockers during school hours.

Athletic Lockers

Students whose athletic gear is too large to store in their personal locker may store it in the appropriate locker room. No athletic gear may be stored in classrooms, bathrooms, or other spaces on campus unless designated by school administration.

Bikes, Skateboards, Etc.

Skateboarding, rollerblading, and bicycling on school property are not allowed, and OCS does not offer facilities to securely store these items. Students should not bring these items to school.

Lost & Found

At the start of the year, please mark all belongings with the student’s name using a black permanent marker (including books, clothing, backpack, etc.). Check for any lost item as soon as it is missing. The school is not responsible for lost items and any unclaimed articles will be donated to a charity at the end of each quarter.
