One-On-One Tutoring

Hour-long appointments are scheduled for in-person tutoring, during school and after school hours Monday-Friday, with some evening and weekend appointments available remotely. Our professional tutors support students with subject-specific course content -- English, History, Math, and Science, and some Modern Languages (currently offering Spanish and French support).

Academic Seminar

Providing a combination of Executive Function and Academic Support for our students, Academic Seminar is a paid elective that is one of the student’s scheduled classes each week. For information regarding enrollment in High School Academic Seminar, please contact Dr Robin Vukoje, our High School Learning Specialist, at rvukoje@oakschristian.org.

Drop-In Tutoring

Specific hours are provided each school day for students to drop in for assistance in solving problems, thinking through writing prompts, and studying for quizzes or tests in their core subjects. Drop-in tutoring does not have a cost and does not require an appointment; students are able to come work with tutors for any needed amount of time during open periods or lunch (Drop-in hours will be announced in the Connection Newsletter and posted in the Learning Center each semester).

Executive Function Skills

Executive Function emphasizes, and helps to develop, the skills that help students to become organized, self-reliant learners. These skills include organization, time management, self-advocacy, note taking, working memory, etc. Students meet with our trained tutors one or two times weekly, in 30-minute sessions, to help learn and practice their Executive Function skills.

Summer

Workshops and one-on-one sessions are offered each summer through the Learning Center. These sessions can help fill in some learning gaps and/or keep students’ minds fresh and focused as they prepare for the new school year.
